It's a known fact Video Games have "kid appeal". But should they be used during gym class? Are video games something that you'd like to do or do you prefer real games over virtual games?

Are video games during gym class something that you would enjoy, if so what benefits do you see? What are some negative effects or disadvantages to using video games in place of other gym activities?
Well wii is really a fun system to play like one of the game that Mr.Hull poste the video on of Mario sports wii. I think is kinda help you work out a liltle bit but maybe is not that effected like playing activities on gym like playing basketball ruining etcs. Even tha wii is really fun but is not that effected on like heal because is just a game system.
ReplyDeleteI don’t think that video games should be used in the gym because gym is a place to exercise and i personally think that now a days we have a lot of technology and electronics and so gym is a place to run and have fun and not to be playing games from the Wii that are supposedly educational. And is also a place to play a lot of activities that are healthy for us teens and that is why I think we should not have video games at the gym.
ReplyDeleteif think about the way our bodies work, wii wouldn’t be the best idea for exercise. To be fit our bodies need our muscles to have that extra strain. If our bodies started to depend on wii then we wouldn’t be getting as much exercise as we need. You would be better off doing nothing. But let’s say we used the gym for its original purpose, our bodies would be more likely to be healthy. so I’m just saying using the wii would be like you being active but not getting benefitting from it, but regular use of the gym for its original purpose creates an even bigger benefit for our bodies. i stand to say wii is not a great idea to be used in the gym.
ReplyDeleteThis website could help you guys out alot when it comes to transition words!

This structured list of commonly used english transition words can be used by students and teachers to find the right expression. English transition words and phrases are essential, since they not only connect ideas, but also can introduce a certain shift, contrast or opposition, emphasis or agreement, purpose, result or conclusion, etc. in the line of argument.
The transition words and phrases (also called devices) have been assigned only once to somewhat artificial categories, although some words belong to more than one category.
To improve your writing reviews, papers, letters, abstracts, reports, thesis, it is essential to understand how, transition words can be used to combine ideas in writing. It is also fundamental to be aware of the sometimes subtle meaning of transition words within the english language.

ReplyDeleteI agree that besides the attractive aspect of video games during a workout, most people would disagree with this form of exercise. Not only will students loose their main purpose of exercising, but they'll also think of this as another opportunity to excel to the next level of the game. Agreeing with Tuan, physical movement involving a realistic version of exercising like basketball and volleyball will give the students a better look at what exercising really means. Being realistic, 15 years from now when those same students need exercise, there won't be a Wii Gaming System to help them. Being in motion now will give them motivation to continue exercising in the future.
ReplyDeleteI see a lot of logical points made here about how the game system compares to real exercise. Also, it is important to consider future effects of subsituting video games for other forms of exercise.
ReplyDeleteIt makes sense to me that virtual exercise is less physical in many cases. A comparison might also be treadmill as compared to running outside. Outside running involves a a variety conditions that take place naturally. I think Sosna, you make a good point about the motivation to run outside could be lost with years of exercised on a Wii.
