Poetry Books

Metaphors create pictures in our mind. Young adult author T.A. Barron, gives the flame metaphor: A flame burns brightly in each of us as unique people with moments of heroism.

In our blog, Albert described the metaphor of the walking on bare floor with no carpet, being a metaphor for the struggles of life.
As we wrote our poem books what poetry strategies did you find to be most effective for you?
Which poems of your classmates did you enjoy the most? Why?

  3. T.A Barron seems like an entertaining author. However, it seems like his/her poems cover a wide range of genres from funny to serious ode poems. :)
I would like to check out on the poems mentioned.

  5. I haven't read anyones poem as yet, but I believe that writing different poems, especially odes, can make ones imagination go wild, and anyone can instantly think of so many things to write about.

  14. I agree with what Kyla and some other students said about writing odes. After reading so many of your poems so far, I have found myself enjoying the odes the most. Everyone has so many people in their lives that are so important and special to them. I love being able to learn more about everyone by reading their odes.
